Now that summer is officially here I thought it would be a good time to share my summer skincare routine. 🌞 I’m in my mid-30s so I’m really starting to focus on taking care of my skin and using anti-aging products. I don’t use a lot of products so I need them to be effective. I also have to be careful what I use because sometimes harsh products will irritate or dry out my skin. After a lot of trial and error I have finally found a routine that works for me!
Vitamin C Serum 22 : Every morning I apply a vitamin C serum. This is a great anti-aging product because it’s an antioxidant that combines vitamin C, vitamin E, and ferulic acid. It goes on smooth and absorbs quickly. It’s also a much less pricey option than the “gold standard” Skinceuticals.
NeoStrata Skin Active Matrix Support SPF 30: After applying my serum I always put on moisturizer with SPF. I first learned about NeoStrata from my dermatologist two years ago and I’ve been using it ever since. I love that it not only provides protection from the sun but also targets discoloration and lifts & firms.
Clinique City Block Sheer SPF 25: On days that I don’t wear the NeoStrata, I’ll use this SPF. It acts as a makeup primer as well as a sunscreen so it cuts out an extra step in my makeup routine. It has a slight tan tint to it so it gives light coverage and is great for days that I don’t wear much makeup.
Yes to Blueberries Eye Firming Treatment: Lastly, I apply an eye cream to keep my under eye area well moisturized. I like how this one improves elasticity and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. I also use this in my evening skincare routine.
Paula’s Choice Resist Intensive Wrinkle Repair Retinol Serum: I use a gentle cleanser in the evening followed by a retinol serum. I LOVE this serum by Paula’s Choice! It goes on so nicely and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth but not oily. It includes stabilized retinol, antioxidants, and anti-aging plant extracts. Although this a mild retinol, I only use it every other night to avoid irritation.
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Face Moisturizer : On the nights I don’t use the retinol serum, I use this cream. I kept reading about it in magazines so I gave it a try and it hasn’t disappointed! I like that it has hyaluronic acid (a great moisturizer), amino-peptides (they help your skin build collagen), and niacinamide (helps even skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores).
Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads: Exfoliation is key for fresh looking skin so once or twice a week I use these exfoliating pads. You just wipe over your face and neck, leave on for 1 to 3 minutes, and splash off with water. They come with 60 peel pads per jar but they are large so I cut them in half. This doubles the amount of pads, an even better deal!
So that wraps up my summer skincare routine. All of these products go on light and smooth which is ideal for the summer heat and humidity. They are what I’m currently using but I’m always researching and trying new skincare products. In fact, I ordered Paula’s Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment (a more potent retinol than the Resist Intensive) and it just arrived so I’m excited to try it!
